The Story of Lazarus
John 11:1-44 records the sequence of events that led to Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Jesus was told that his friend Lazarus was very sick and was in need of healing. Jesus expressed that God would be Glorified more by waiting to go see him. Two days later, Jesus makes the journey and finds that Lazarus has died and Martha says to Him, "if you had been here, my brother would not have died." And, Jesus replied, "Your brother will rise again. I am the resurrection and the life, the one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." Then, the shortest verse in the bible:
John 11:35 Jesus wept.
Then, Jesus goes to the tomb and has the stone rolled away and declares, "Lazarus, come out." Lazarus, now alive wrapped in grave cloths, and Jesus says, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go."
How this Applies to Us
Such an easy thing for You to do
Your hand is moving right now
You are still showing up
At the tomb of every Lazarus
Your voice is calling me out
My God, come through again
You can do all things
You can do all things but fail
'Cause You've never lost a battle
No, You've never lost a battle
And I know, I know You never will
By the power of the Holy Ghost
A new wind is blowing right now
Breaking my heart of stone
Taking over like it's Jericho
And my walls are all crashing down
You've never lost a battle
You've never lost a battle
You never will
You've never lost a battle
You've never lost a battle
You never will
And I know You won't lose
And I know You won't lose
You never will
You never will
You never will
You never will
You never will
You never will
You never will
You never will

Final Thoughts
Contend in prayer for the people you come in contact with, that they would be called out from the tomb that they are in, that God would be glorified by the timing of it, trust that He can resurrect anyone and know with hope that God has never lost a battle and He never will.
