Where Is Abundant Life Fellowship Meeting Now?

Right now, our church family is meeting at Adirondack High School in Boonville, NY, as we continue worshiping together in this displaced season. Adirondack High School is located at 8181 State Route 294, Boonville, NY 13309.

We may not be in our usual building, but we are still the same body of believers.

In some ways, this season has clarified something the church always needs to remember:

A sanctuary can be lost.
A building can be damaged.
A meeting place can change.

But the Church of Jesus Christ remains.

The Church Is Not a Building

That truth is easy to say when life is normal.

It becomes much more real when your church building is gone.

The New Testament reminds us that the church is not brick, wood, carpet, or stained glass. The church is made up of redeemed people indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Buildings serve ministry, but they do not define it.

That means Abundant Life Fellowship did not end when the building was lost.

It simply entered a new chapter.

And maybe that is one of the lessons God is pressing into all of us right now: what makes a church alive is not its structure, but its Savior.

Easter Sunday in Boonville Means More This Year

This Sunday is Easter, and even the local school calendar marks Easter on April 5, 2026.

That timing feels especially meaningful.

Easter is the declaration that Jesus brings life out of death.
Hope out of sorrow.
Victory out of what looks ruined.

That is not just a doctrine we celebrate this year.
It is something we are living.

This Easter, our church gathers displaced but not defeated.
Wounded but not abandoned.
Shaken but not destroyed.

If anything, Easter feels closer this year.

Because when you have walked through loss, resurrection hope becomes more than a sermon theme. It becomes oxygen for the soul.

A Growing Church, Even While Displaced

One of the most beautiful parts of this story is that the church is still growing.

That may surprise some people. It may not make sense on paper. But it makes perfect sense in the kingdom of God.

God has always done some of His best work in unsettled places:

in wilderness seasons,
in upper rooms,
in prison cells,
in homes,
in exile,
in borrowed spaces.

The early church knew what it was like to gather without permanence and still carry extraordinary power.

A church does not need ideal circumstances to be fruitful.
It needs the presence of God, the truth of His Word, and a people willing to follow Him.

That is what we are seeing.

What This Season Is Teaching Us

This season has been painful, but it has also been revealing.

It has reminded us:

God is faithful when life changes suddenly.

The church is stronger than a building.

Christian community matters most when things are uncertain.

The gospel still draws people, even in disrupted seasons.

Hope in Christ is not fragile.

We would never have chosen this road.

But we can say with confidence that God has met us on it.

Abundant Life Fellowship may be displaced, but it is not defeated.

And His church is still alive and well.

The church is the people.

There is a new song that the Worship Team at Abundant Life Fellowship has been working on. As you learn this song and give Him praise through it, our prayer is that you let go of your deep and let it call out to the Deep in God. I saw Matt Redman in concert when I was in college during a festival called Passion OneDay in Tennessee. It was a wonderful experience in that open field, rain pouring down, with tens of thousands of other college students singing "Let it rain... Open the floodgates of Heaven." Peace is a gift from God: Peace being a fruit of the spirit is interesting because the word can be used as a political term referring to entire countries or as a very personal word referring to an inner state of being. I think that it is obvious that as a fruit of the Spirit the Bible is using this second meaning of the word peace and throughout the New Testament we can see that peace does not mean safety. Peace does not mean that there aren't people deliberately trying to destroy you. Many, if not all, of the writers of the New Testament were being persecuted for their beliefs and the early church was not at peace in the sense of the opposite of being at war. A Different Kind of Background When we first sang Graves into Gardens at my church (Abundant Life Fellowship in Boonville, NY) there was some opposition to it. At the time, there were elements in Conservative Christian media that were trying to "cancel" Steven Furtick , mega-church pastor and co-author of this song. It seemed at the time that there was a very critical community that scoured the internet for something to be against and they latched onto being against Furtick and anything he was connected to. You can tell pretty easily that I disagree with that approach. However, it is alway possible that a mega-church pastor is a wolf in sheep's clothing so I do understand the urge to be skeptical and to " test all things and hold onto that which is true." I will be reteaching a class on Bible Study Methods at my church starting next month and I love a good challenge. Come Thou Fount Confusion During my summers away from home as a Camp Counsellor, I attended a Mennonite Church every Sunday. One of the most common hymns in this church was Come Thou Fount and I found that I wasn't the only one that was singing along and enjoying the song without knowing what it really meant. Well here is an ambitious project. There are hundreds of prophecies about Jesus in the Old Testament which are fulfilled in the New Testament. My aim is to catalog them all and show where they are fulfilled. In this first installment, I will concentrate only on the Prophecies about Jesus contained in the book of Genesis. My hope is that this will also be a helpful reference for others when it is finished.
