6-Week Bible Survey for Youth Group (30-Minute Lessons)
If you’ve ever tried to teach the Bible to students, you’ve probably run into this problem: they know some of the stories, but they don’t really see how everything connects.
That’s where this 6-week Bible survey comes in.
This series is designed to walk through the entire story of Scripture—from Genesis to Revelation—in a way that’s simple, clear, and actually engaging for a youth group setting.
Each lesson is built to fit into a 30-minute session, so it’s realistic whether you’re leading a small group, helping with youth group, or teaching a class.
What this study is about
The goal isn’t to cover every detail of the Bible. That would be impossible in six weeks.
The goal is to help students see the big picture.
Over the course of this series, they’ll begin to understand:
how the story of the Bible starts
what went wrong in the world
how God responds
and how everything ultimately points to Jesus
When students start to see that the Bible is one connected story—not just random events—it changes how they read it.
How each session works
Each week follows a simple structure so things stay focused and engaging:
A short recap or intro to set the stage
A teaching section that walks through the main story
A few discussion questions to get students thinking
A simple activity to help them interact with what they just learned
A short closing to bring it all together
It’s not complicated, and that’s intentional. The goal is clarity, not overload.
What the six weeks cover
Week 1 starts at the very beginning. Creation, the fall, and the first promise that God is going to fix what’s broken. This sets the foundation for everything else.
Week 2 moves into Exodus and the Law. God rescues His people from slavery and begins shaping them into a nation. Students start to see both God’s power and His expectations.
Week 3 covers the kings, the prophets, and a long period of waiting. Israel rises and falls, and prophets keep pointing forward to a coming Savior.
Week 4 is where everything shifts. Jesus arrives. His life, teachings, and miracles show who He really is—and why He matters.
Week 5 focuses on the cross and the resurrection. This is the turning point of the entire Bible. It’s where everything comes together.
Week 6 looks at the church, the letters, and how the story ends—with hope, restoration, and the promise that Jesus will return.
Why this matters
A lot of students grow up hearing Bible stories in pieces.
Noah. David. Jesus.
But they don’t always understand how those pieces fit together.
This series helps connect those dots.
It gives students a framework so that when they read the Bible later, they’re not starting from scratch—they already understand the story they’re stepping into.
Who this is for
This works really well for:
youth groups
small groups
new believers
anyone who wants a simple overview of the Bible
You don’t have to be an expert to teach it. Everything is laid out in a way that’s easy to follow.
Where to go next
Each week in this series includes a full lesson plan with teaching notes, discussion questions, and an activity.
You can go through them in order:
Week 1: Creation, Fall & Promise
Week 2: God’s People & the Law
Week 3: Kings, Prophets & Waiting
Week 4: Jesus Arrives
Week 5: Death, Resurrection & the Church
Week 6: The Church, Letters & the End
(These will link to each of these once the posts are published. They come out every Monday)
Final thought
The Bible isn’t just a collection of separate stories.
It’s one story.
And once students start to see that, everything begins to make a lot more sense.
